Bakari made history in 2006 when, at the age of just 22, he defeated a 26-year-old incumbent to become the youngest member of the South Carolina state legislature and the youngest African-American elected official in the country. In 2014, he was the Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor of South Carolina. Bakari worked for U.S. Congressman James Clyburn and former Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin. He was a member of President Barack Obama`s South Carolina steering committee during the 2008 election and is widely regarded as a rising star within the Democratic Party and a leading voice for his generation. He was named to TIME magazine`s 40 Under 40 list in 2010 and to «The Root 100» list of the country`s most influential African Americans in 2014 and 2015. Lawyer Dessausure is from Columbia, South Carolina. He graduated from Dreher High School in 1988. During his visit to the Dreher-Gymnasium, he participated in several sports and social organizations. Mr. Dessausure then attended South Carolina State University, where he graduated with honors and as a Presidential Scholar. He received his Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University, where he participated in numerous community and social organizations. Bakari is admitted to the bar in all state and federal courts in South Carolina.

He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the Richland County Bar Association, and the South Carolina Justice Association. Devine is a member of the American Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar Association, the National Bar Association, the National Bond Lawyers` Association, the South Carolina Black Lawyer`s Association, and the Richland County Bar Association. She served as Secretary of the South Carolina Black Lawyers Association and President of the Columbia Lawyers Association. Mr. Rita Metts has 28 years of experience representing clients with Social Security benefits, veterans` disability benefits, divorces and individuals. Bakari has been a speaker at events organized by the National Education Association, the College Democrats of America National Convention, and the Democratic National Convention in 2008 and 2016. He is the author of the New York Times bestseller «My Vanishing Country» and a political commentator on CNN. Bakari has been working for the law firm Strom since 2007.

He is married to Dr. Ellen Rucker-Sellers. They have three children. In addition to the many legal and political organizations in which Tameika serves, she is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Jack & Jill of America and a member of the Board of Directors of SC Women in Leadership. Bakari Sellers was born in 1984 and grew up in Denmark, South Carolina. He graduated from the South Carolina public school system and received his bachelor`s degree from Morehouse College in 2005, where he served as student body president, and his law degree from the University of South Carolina in 2008. Gail B. Jabber is a founding partner of the law firm Jabber & Isaac, P.A. She has been a lawyer for 28 years and works in the fields of real estate and family law. She was appointed municipal judge of the City of Columbia in June 2018, where she served for nearly four years.

She received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Political Science from the University of South Carolina in 1990 and her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1994. Jabber has been around for 20 years. Ms. active in private. Jabber has served on the boards of the South Carolina Centers for Equal Justice, the South Carolina Bar Board of Governors and the South Carolina Philharmonic. She is also a member of the South Carolina Bar, the South Carolina Black Lawyer`s Association, and the Richland County Bar.She is also a member of the Gamma Nu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the National Smart Set, where she has worked in a number of offices, including Chapter president.Ms. Jabber is a big fan of Gamecock. She is an avid reader and has been a member of the reading between the lines book club for 18 years. She enjoys playing tennis and running. Ms Jabber is from Spartanburg, South Carolina. She has two daughters, Olivia (25) and Victoria (24), and a grandson, Kamden, aged one.
